Perennial Holdings inks agreement to open two hospitals in Guangzhou
Found in the Southeast Tower of Yuesheng Plaza, this will be the first wholly foreign-owned tertiary general hospital and specialist hospital in Guangzhou and Southern China. The two medical facilities will have a complete arranged capacity of over 600 beds.
Pua Seck Guan, executive chairman and CEO of Perennial Holdings, claims: “The RMB1 billion investment adjusts with our calculated focus on healthcare-centric HSR transit-oriented developments (TODs), which act as enablers of our healthcare organization, and marks our primary health care business foray right into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.”
Perennial Holdings has authorized a contract with Guangzhou Metro Group to rent roughly 105,000 sq ft of space and spend around RMB1 billion ($ 178.9 million) to establish two medical facilities in Guangzhou.
The healthcare facilities are anticipated to establish Guangzhou as a “top health tourist place”, drawing in high-net-worth clients from the Asia Pacific region, thinks Pua.
Both hospitals in Guangzhou are anticipated to be finished in July 2026, forming the very first phase of the Perennial Baiyun International Healthcare City. Under the collaboration agreement between Perennial Holdings and the Guangzhou Baiyun District Government, the healthcare city is readied to connect over 1.18 sq kilometres at an approximated overall investment cost of RM5 billion. The Perennial Baiyun International Healthcare City is envisioned to be a clinical and wellness precinct integrating medical, wellness, research study, training, business and household parts, claims the group.
Presently, the group has 5 healthcare-centric TODs that are linked to HSR stations, located in Tianjin, Chengdu, Kunming, Xi’an and Chongqing. Perennial Holdings owns, manages and operates over 25,000 beds in medical and eldercare facilities, including 16,000 operational beds and 9,000 beds in the pipeline, throughout China and Singapore.
Meanwhile, Perennial Holdings is also set to create an integrated eldercare project in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District, which will include a rehab hospital, nursing home and an eldercare home.
The model, that was piloted at Perennial Holdings’ general hospital in Tianjin that began operations earlier this year, delivers ease and cost competency to doctors and clinical teams, the company includes.
According to Perennial Holdings, the two hospitals are going to offer a common medical centers and services concept that will permit medical professionals and medical groups to operate on an asset-light basis, without requiring to invest in clinical centers and services. As an alternative, they are going to make use of facilities offered and managed by Perennial Holdings.
